Michael Willham receives Top Honors from Nutrena ®

Michael, a Highland High School senior, and his horse, Elmegaardens Affair, a rare imported Danish Knabstrupper, were honored to be chosen to join Team Nutrena®. Starting in December of 2012, Nutrena® partners with Michael and Affair as they further their riding career together as well as their home barn, Hinckley Equestrian Center in Hinckley, Ohio.

Michael was chosen for this top honor because of his dedication to helping others and being a positive role model, in addition to his success as an equestrian. He has been volunteering at a local therapeutic horsemanship facility for children since the 7th grade where he assists in lessons as well as in the barn. Michael is also a member of both the National Honors Society and the Buckeye Boys State and maintains a 4.4 grade point average.

Michael and Affair participate in three-day eventing, one of the most physically challenging equestrian sports for both horse and rider. Eventing consists of three different riding disciplines: dressage, cross country, and stadium jumping. Horse and rider must maintain a rigorous training schedule to achieve the partnership required to be successful at this sport.

Affair is a beautiful very talented Knabbie. I had the pleasure of meeting her in Scotland and its a delight to see her looking and doing so well with you in the US. Congratulations.

Thank you so much, Michael and Affair have an incredible bond, they are very in-tune to each other. Seeing them together, it is apparent how very much he loves her. A boy and his horse, it's a beautiful thing.
